Altar Server Ministry

Altar Servers have the special privilege of assisting the priest and deacon during the celebration of the Mass and other liturgical services. By serving at the altar, they help the parish community worship with reverence, beauty, and order.

This ministry is open to youth who have received their First Holy Communion and are committed to deepening their faith through active participation in the Church’s liturgy. Serving at the altar is both an honor and a responsibility—it helps young people grow in leadership, discipline, and love for the Eucharist.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying the cross and candles in processions
  • Assisting the priest and deacon by preparing the altar
  • Holding the Roman Missal and other liturgical items
  • Participating in special liturgies such as weddings, funerals, and feast days

Training and Support
All new servers receive training to become confident in their role and familiar with the flow of the Mass. Ongoing guidance is provided to help them serve with reverence, attentiveness, and joy.

Why Serve?
Serving at the altar is a unique way to draw closer to Christ, to understand the Mass more deeply, and to offer your gifts in service to God and the parish community. It is also a wonderful opportunity to form friendships with others who share your faith.

If you or your child is interested in becoming an Altar Server, please contact the parish office for more information or to sign up for the next training session.
